N.V. Veevoer Fabriek Suriname, or VESU, was established in 1968. As a subsidiary of De Molen, VESU is an integral part of processing the by-products of De Molen in the production of feed. VESU has been the market leader for over 50 years on the local poultry feed market and since 2007 VESU has been exporting to the region.

About Us
VESU has been a reliable supplier of feed for broiler chickens, layer hens and ducks since 1968. Due in part to the strategic collaboration with sister company De Molen, VESU has become the market leader in the Surinamese market as poultry feed supplier. We strive towards achieving an optimal composition of the feed through, among other things, the use of the right mix of ingredients which have been carefully tuned to the different life phases of the animals. At VESU we not only take into consideration the growth of our animals, but the health of both the animals and the people (as consumers) are our focus. When preparing our feed, we therefore don’t use any antibiotics and/or growth promoters and animal meal.
Since 2010 we have been 22000:2018/HACCP certified.
In order to support the local agricultural industry VESU switched from imported corn to locally available raw materials such as rice (by-products) as basic component for the feed production.
Our Products
The basis of the feed products of VESU consist of the same ingredients, namely:
Soy meal, Soy oil, Rice , Wheat, Corn, Premix (vitamins, amino acids, iron, antioxidants, etc.).
The dose per ingredient and type Premix differs per product. Included below is an overview of the different VESU products.
Broiler chickens
Super Broiler Starter
(20 & 40kg)
This broiler chicken feed has been especially developed for chicks for day 1 up to and including day 13. Compared to grower and finisher it has a higher amino acid and protein level. This is required to ensure the chick has a good start in the first development phase. This feed contains coccidiostat which is an anticoccodial medication. The condition coccidiosis is caused by single celled intestinal parasites and causes serious damage to the chicken’s intestinal tract.
Broiler Grower
(20 & 40kg)
This broiler chicken feed has been especially developed for chicks for day 14 up to and including day 27. This feed contains coccidiostat which is an anticoccodial medication.
Broiler Finisher
(20 & 40kg)
This broiler chicken feed is especially developed for chicks for day 28 up to slaughter age. This feed does NOT contain coccidiostat which ensures NO residues end up in the human food chain that might pose a risk to the public health.
Laying hens
Rearer Feed 1
(20 & 40kg)
This conditioning feed for laying hens is especially developed for chicks for week 1 up to and including week 6. This feed contains coccidiostat which is an anticoccodial medication.
Rearer Feed 2
(20 & 40kg)
This conditioning feed for laying hens is especially developed for chicks for week 7 up to and including week 18. This feed does NOT contain any coccidiostat.
Layer Feed 1
(20 & 40kg)
This layer feed is especially developed for chicks for week 19 up to and including week 49. This feed does NOT contain any coccidiostat. In this life stage the hens lay eggs.
Layer Feed 2
(20 & 40kg)
This layer feed is especially developed for chicks for week 50 up to and including their laying stage. This feed does NOT contain any coccidiostat. In this life stage the hens lay eggs. Compared to Layer Feed 1 this feed has a higher calcium content. This is required to ensure that the eggshells remain solid in this phase.
Ducks
Duck Starter Mash
(20 & 40kg)
This duck feed is developed especially for ducks for day 1 up to and including day 12. Compared to grower/finisher it has a higher amino acid and protein content. This is required to ensure the duck has a good start in its first phase of development. This feed does NOT contain any coccidiostat.
Duck Grower/Finisher Mash
(20 & 40kg)
This duck feed is especially developed for ducks for day 13 up to the slaughther age. This feed does NOT contain any coccidiostat.
Other feed and by-products
All Purpose Feed 1
(20kg)
This by-product contains the same ingredients as the feed products and ideal to use as filler for poultry or other cattle at an economic price.
Wheat Bran
(20kg)
This is a by-product of the production process of De Molen. Rich in fibres and suited as raw material for feed producers and feed for cows, horses, pigs, sheep, goats, ducks and chicken farmers
Lick block
(10kg)
This by-product is rich in minerals and an excellent addition to a diet of larger animals such as cows. The product comes in a solid block shape and as the name suggests the stone is “licked” by the animals.
Multivitamine
(1kg)
This by-product is rich in vitamins and suited for feed supplements for chickens and cows. The vitamins are dissolved in water and help with the proper intake of nutrients to prevent illnesses, recover from vaccinations and heat stress and also works good against dehydration.
